Middle School Tennis

The RCTA, the Asheboro City Schools, and the Randolph County Schools co-sponsor the Middle School Club Tennis Program at North Asheboro City Park. This program is open, free-of-charge, to area middle school students. The program aims to introduce novice players to the sport under the instruction of a certified teaching professional, Mike Zavacky, owner of Daves Mtn. Tennis & Swim Club. He will be assisted by Tom Lewis, retired coach at Asheboro High School.

The players will learn basic tennis strokes, rules of the game, and sportsmanship. Then students will compete in a relaxed recreational format. Young players may be matched up with an adult tennis mentor if they wish. The RCTA will announce the program each fall in area middle schools. Tennis racquets will be provided if needed.
